Terms of use
Draft for review
This page is being checked by a legal adviser before launch. Details shown [LIKE THIS] are still being confirmed. Questions in the meantime: hello@truckersofmzansi.co.za.These terms apply to using the Truckers of Mzansi website and your account. Buying is also covered by the terms of sale. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act. The operator is [REGISTERED NAME] (supplier information).
1. Your account
- One account per person, in your own name, with an email address you control. Confirm the address before you apply, claim achievements or buy.
- Keep your password to yourself. If you think someone else has used your account, change your password: that signs out every other device. Then tell us.
- Keep your details accurate. Tell us if something changes that affects your verification, such as your PrDP.
2. Verification and your driver number
- We verify drivers from their licence, ID and PrDP documents. We may ask for more information, and we may decline an application. If we decline, we'll tell you why.
- Your driver number is issued to you personally, once you're verified and the fee is paid. It can't be sold or transferred.
- We may withdraw a number that was obtained with false information or someone else's documents.
3. Achievements
You can claim achievements with evidence (for example an employer's letter, or logbooks). We review each claim. A claim's proof level is shown with it, and some shop items need a particular achievement at a certain proof level.
Self-declared achievements are shown as self-declared and don't unlock anything. Claims made with false evidence will be removed.
4. The public register
Anyone can check whether a number is taken. Your name and other details are only shown if you switch your public entry on, and you can switch it off again any time. See the privacy notice.
5. Please don't
- Upload documents or information that aren't yours, or that you're not entitled to share.
- Pretend to be someone else, or to be verified when you're not.
- Try to get into other people's accounts or our systems, interfere with the site, or collect data from it with automated tools.
- Use our name, logo or badges to suggest that we endorse something we don't.
6. Our name and content
The Truckers of Mzansi name, logo, badges and site content belong to us. Your driver number certificate and badge images are for your personal use as a registered driver. What you upload stays yours: you let us use it only to verify you and run the services you asked for.
7. Suspension and closing your account
- You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, or to protect drivers or the register. We'll email you the reason. Suspension signs the account out everywhere. If you think we've got it wrong, reply to that email.
8. The service
We work to keep the site available and correct, but sometimes it will be offline for maintenance. We're responsible for loss caused by our negligence, as the law provides. We're not responsible for loss we couldn't reasonably have prevented or foreseen.
9. Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update the version number above. For significant changes, we'll email account holders before they apply.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by South African law. Questions: hello@truckersofmzansi.co.za.
